Founder's Note
Traveling solo is one of the best things I've ever done for myself.
We do it for different reasons. And because of that, I've met people I never would've crossed paths with back home. The aspiring writer searching for new stimulation in Seoul. The engineer wanting a new life in Kyoto. Some connections stuck, some didn't. But the common thread was that we all wanted something real. Not a forced date, not a run-of-the-mill tour with a dozen families. Just… someone who gets it. Someone to talk to, explore with, laugh with.
The problem is: it's damn hard to find the right people.
Most platforms weren't built for this. Dating apps have mismatched intentions. On tours, you get thrown into huge groups with randoms. On Reddit, maybe you'd sit around waiting for replies to your "Hi! 22F/M looking for travel buddies in London". It's messy, unfiltered, and often overwhelming. And as someone who's not exactly an extrovert, I found myself wishing—what if there was a better way?
That's why I started building Pigeon.
It's a platform for solo travelers who want to meet intentionally. We use shared values, vibes, and timing to help you connect with people going where you're going, when you're going. You can answer a few questions, get a vibe check from that, match, and chat before you ever meet. No pressure, less anxiety. Just a simple way to find people you might actually get along with.
It's still early! But the mission's clear: I want to make solo travel feel less like going alone, and more like choosing your own story.
